Boy climbs down from third story for ball in Bendemeer

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy gave his neighbours a scare when he climbed from the third floor of a Housing Board block to pick up a ball.

The boy was playing football with a friend when they kicked the ball onto a ledge on the second floor, evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported.

The boy then went to the third floor and climbed down by holding on to the railing at the end of the corridor. The second floor's corridor was fenced up, so there was no access to the ledge.

After reaching the ledge to retrieve the ball, he climbed back up to the third floor. The whole process took about 20 minutes.

Neighbours who witnessed the incident at Block 33, Bendemeer Road, said the boy's actions looked dangerous.

But when a Shin Min Daily News reporter approached the boy, he thought nothing of it.

"Luckily I learnt rock climbing in school," he said.
