Breaking fast and sharing points of view

SINGAPORE - Around 120 leaders and members of various religious groups gathered on Thursday for an inter-faith iftar session at the Muslim Kidney Action Association (MKAC).

At 7.17pm, a call to prayer was made and dates were served to signify the breaking of the fast for Muslims.

Among the guests was Professor Farid Alattas, the head of the Department of Malay Studies at the National University of Singapore.

He took part in a group discussion on inter-faith relationships in the spirit of Ramadan, together with Sister Maria Lau from the Sisters of the Infant Jesus, Venerable Phramaha Rian Manone from the Wat Ananda Buddhist Temple and Mr Noor Mohamed Marican, president of the Inter-Religious Organisation.
