SINGAPORE - British Airways (BA) celebrated its flagship A380 aircraft in Singapore with an exclusive "sky-high" party at the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands' SkyPark.
The British airline hosted distinguished guests such as Antony Phillipson, the British High Commissioner to Singapore, leading physicist Professor Brian Cox, together with business partners in the aviation, travel and hospitality industry.
Along with global cities such as Los Angeles, Chengdu and Johannesburg, Singapore has been added to BA's select destinations flying on A380s.
Robert Williams, BA's regional general manager of South-east Asia, called the new flight service another milestone in the British airline's "long and proud tradition of connecting Singapore and London".
He also added that they are extremely delighted to be operating the state-of-the-art Airbus aircraft on this route.
The SkyPark infinity pool was also the location of Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow's photoshoot for a BA advertisement just over two weeks ago.
Just like passengers going on board a plane, guests arriving at the party were greeted warmly by BA flight attendants who had just arrived in Singapore on the A380 superjumbo plane that evening.
A mini-gallery with art works showcasing the craftsmanship which has been replicated in the new A380 aircraft was also set up at the venue.
Guests were entertained by Singapore's first pop string quartet, VOX, and also got to mix their own signature scents with fragrances from British label, Jo Malone.
At the end of the evening, a lucky guest won a pair of return tickets on BA's Singapore-London route.
BA is also celebrating the launch of their new A380 route with a flight sale.
