SINGAPORE - A British banker, who got into a fight at a Halloween party, was sentenced to 18 months' jail on Thursday.
James Daniel Rhodes was convicted of causing grievous hurt to Mr Ronald Tan, an Australian, during the party. Mr Tan, 34, fractured his skull during the fight in October 2010 and died 14 months later.
The judge also ordered Rhodes to make compensation of $32,000 to Mr Tan's mother.
The ex-banker, 37, was also found guilty of punching Mr Kevin Michael Hubbard, 31, an interior designer, at the same party. He is appealing against the conviction and sentence and is out on bail.
