SINGAPORE - Brunei's permanent secretary for defence policy and development Colonel (COL) (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham bin Pengiran Haji Mohamad is on a visit to Singapore from September 20 to 23.
COL (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Azmansham co-chaired the 4th Singapore-Brunei Defence Policy Dialogue (DPD) with Singapore's Permanent Secretary for Defence Mr Chan Yeng Kit at the Ministry of Defence on Monday.
Inaugurated in 2009, the DPD serves as a regular forum for both countries to oversee and advance the bilateral defence relationship, as well as explore new areas of defence cooperation. The DPD also allows both countries to exchange views on security issues of mutual interest.
As part of his visit, COL (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Azmansham called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen. He also visited the Information Fusion Centre, Singapore Maritime Crisis Centre, Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Coordination Centre, and ST Aerospace.
Besides the DPD, the two countries also interact regularly through high-level visits, professional exchanges and military courses.
