KAMPAR: The case of C. Selvam, the driver of late DAP chairman Karpal Singh, has been postponed to Sept 5.
Magistrate Mohamad Ibrahim Mohamad Ghulam set the date for pre-trial conference.
On July 9, 26-year-old Selvam had claimed trial to a charge of reckless endangerment resulting in the deaths of Karpal and the latter's aide, Indian national Michael Cornelius.
Selvam, also an Indian national, was said to have committed the offence while driving a vehicle with the registration number KS9898 at KM306.1 of the northbound lane of the North-South Expressway here at about 12.40am on April 17.
The offence under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 carries a maximum two-year jail sentence and up to RM20,000 (S$7,810) fine, if found guilty.
