Caught on camera: Man makes off with unattended iPhone 6 Plus

You hear this refrain all the time: Never leave your valuables unattended.

A man, who wanted to be known as 'Sham', learned this lesson the painful way after he left his new  iPhone 6 Plus unattended on a counter of his shop in Burlington Square while charging its battery.

He wrote to Stomp citizen journalism website to report about the incident that happened on October 13.

When he wanted to use his phone at about 11am, he was surprised to find that it was no longer on the counter.

Before he discovered the loss, a male shopper had walked into the shop and then left without buying anything.

Sham then decided to check the CCTV footage from the security camera in the shop. Indeed it was the man who had quietly stole his phone while no one was paying any attention.

The clip also showed the man furtively putting the phone into the pocket of his pants and then left the shop discreetly like a smooth operator.

This led Sham to file a police report online.

Still upset with the incident, Sham said: "Please help me to identify this guy. It's so painful to lose my phone."
