Caught on CCTV: Another smash-and-grab in JB

A woman was robbed by a man wielding a weapon just as she pulled into a carpark in Johor Bahru at around 9am, on Sept 24.

Two men on a motorcycle tailed her and went into action as soon as her vehicle stopped.

One of the men ripped off the passenger side window, reached in and grabbed the woman's handbag before fleeing.

The robbery happened even before she got out of the car to go to work.

A video clip of the incident which took place near Jalan Rosmerah 2/17 in Taman Johor Jaya has been circulating online.

One netizen commented, "Can all of us think that fast when hit with something like this? Just be aware of your surroundings, no matter where you are, even in crowded parking lots."

Other netizens also reminded drivers and passengers to keep their belongings away from sight when they are in a car.

A recent case of smash and grab in Johor Bahru left a Singaporean couple fearful of being in their own home.

Ms Fie, 41, a property agent, and her husband, Mr Muka, 42, were in a car that was stuck in traffic when two men on a motorcycle smashed the front passenger side window and snatched a handbag containing Ms Fie's identity card and the keys to their Bukit Batok flat.

The robbers were also on a motorcycle. They were captured on the in-car camera tailing the car for several kilometres before smashing the passenger side window to grab Ms Fie's handbag.
