Caught on video: Passers-by free man trapped under lorry

About 30 people helped rescue a man who was trapped under a lorry along Boon Keng Road on Wednesday morning.

In a minute-and-a-half-long video filmed and posted by Facebook user Suan Wang Foo, several passers-by could be seen running to join a group of men who were attempting to lift the left side of the vehicle.

As they successfully lifted the lorry, a few others were seen pulling the pinned man out.

In a report by Channel NewsAsia, Mr Foo recounted hearing a scream at about 11.45am.

He looked out of his office window and saw a stationary lorry in the middle of the road.

He said that the lorry driver exited the vehicle looking very lost.

Mr Foo added: "Suddenly many people just came and tried to lift the truck. They were not asked to do it but just came to help."

In his Facebook post, he commended the people who came forward to help rescue the man.

As of Wednesday evening, the video has been shared on Facebook nearly 3,000 times.

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, the man in his 20s sustained a leg fracture from the accident. He was conscious when sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
