Commentator signs off WTA Finals Singapore with "Goodbye! From China!"

SINGAPORE - Everyone watching the WTA Finals on Oct 26 in Singapore was stunned when the commentator seemed to forget the country he was in.

He was heard saying "zai jian" (Goodbye in Mandarin), and then signed off after the prize presentation ceremony saying: "Goodbye! From China!"

Stomp contributor Sharon also alerted Stomp to this goof, and said: "How could he spend a week in Singapore and not know we are not in China!!!!"

Social media exploded with stunned tweets and sarcastic remarks saying, "You think Singapore is in China?" and that the commentator has "no excuse".

Kevin Skinner, the American commentator under fire, has already apologised on Twitter.

He explained that he had signed off as "Singapore" 11 times, but said "China" that one time.

Probably we could forgive him for a slip of his tongue.

What do you think?
