Cops nab three after car chase

PETALING JAYA - Police have arrested three suspects who rammed a motorcyclist and a police mobile patrol unit during a chase from Batu Tiga to Section 20, Shah Alam, on Thursday evening.

Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Yahaya Ramli said at about 4.50pm, two police patrol officers who were on duty around the Batu Tiga KTM station parking lot spotted the suspects in a dark tinted Proton Perdana.

"They were acting suspiciously and when the officers approached the vehicle to conduct checks, the suspects drove off, hitting the front right side of the police car," he said.

One of the officers, said ACP Yahaya, tried to block the car by standing in its way and using a loudspeaker, instructing the suspects to stop but the car sped off towards Section 22 via the Federal Highway, knocking down a motorcyclist while running a red light near the Batu Tiga underpass.

ACP Yahaya said the unit called for backup from the Shah Alam police patrol unit and cornered the suspects in Section 20.

"The officers managed to block their path but instead of stopping, the suspects rammed the police car another two times before they were arrested," he said.
