Cops respond to bashing case on bus

SINGAPORE - Police have identified a 48-year-old man in relation to a case of voluntarily causing hurt on board SBS Transit bus service 12 last Monday night.

The man is assisting in investigations and the victim has been informed of his legal recourse, according to a police statement sent to MyPaper on Friday.

The statement follows reports of a 45-year-old man being beaten up on the bus, in front of his wife and other passengers.

The police also advised the public that when encountering such situations, they should remain calm and not engage the culprit further when confronted.

They should note as many details of the culprit as possible, like his appearance, clothing, height and other physical attributes, as well as the culprit's direction and mode of escape.

The public should try to call the police on 999, or seek help from the transport operator.
