The corpse of a Filipino woman was left to rot in a room in Miri as her family members claimed they did not know what to do with it, reported Berita Harian.
Habiba Majani, 36, was left in her room by family members after she died due to stomach pain. It was only after the corpse began to smell that the family started asking for help.
Miri OCPD Supt Stanley Jonathon Ringgit said Habiba, who was a washerwoman, had been suffering from intestinal cancer and had not worked for several months.
"After she died, her brother did not know how to arrange for a funeral, and the family just left the body there until it started to decompose," he said.
