Council took a long time to deal with errant agent

Recently, I called the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) to complain about an agent who used our apartment photos to advertise without our consent.

I was taken aback when the CEA said it would take between four months and a year before we would know the outcome of the investigation.

It was several weeks before the advertisement was taken down.

Why does the CEA take so long to deal with such a matter? Are they short of staff to handle numerous cases?

If the CEA is unable to enforce its rules, it will embolden recalcitrant agents and make a mockery of what it is trying to uphold.
