Crane collapse: 2 dead and 3 seriously injured at National Art Gallery site

One worker Sen Thil, 36, said that the crane had been lifting an excavator at the time and may have become overloaded. A spokesman for The National Art Gallery Singapore's said that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. Work at the site has been halted, and workers told to return to their dormitories.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the call at 11.09am.

SCDF confirms that were a total of 5 casualties at the scene.

They also confirmed that 2 of them were pronounced dead at the scene, while another two were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital(SGH). The other person was admitted to Raffles Hospital before SCDF’s arrival
