Cleaners told the English daily that they did not notice anything amiss when they were at the scene this morning. They had parked their electronic scooters in front of a large tree which was part of the cordoned area. Police officers had to retrieve their bikes for them, the cleaners added.

According to The Straits Times, a group of men gathered near the body. They appeared to be familiar with the victim but declined to speak to the media.

The incident has been classified as unnatural death by the police.
