Dead body found in Sembawang Park carpark

SINGAPORE - A man has been found dead in a carpark next to a white van in Sembawang Park on Friday afternoon, reported The Straits Times.

A police spokesperson said they received a call at 11.57am.

When the officers arrived, a man in his thirties was found motionless and pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The Straits Times reported that shattered glass was found on the driver's side of the van. Items such as a box and green umbrella were seen laid out next to the vehicle.

Cleaners told the English daily that they did not notice anything amiss when they were at the scene this morning. They had parked their electronic scooters in front of a large tree which was part of the cordoned area. Police officers had to retrieve their bikes for them, the cleaners added.

According to The Straits Times, a group of men gathered near the body. They appeared to be familiar with the victim but declined to speak to the media.

The incident has been classified as unnatural death by the police.
