SINGAPORE - Heavy traffic will be expected at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints over the upcoming Labour Day long weekend starting Friday, May 1.
Traffic is expected to build up at both land checkpoints from April 30 and continue on till May 3, said Immigrations & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) in a media release.
For departures from Singapore, ICA said traffic at both checkpoints is expected to be particularly heavy on April 30 and May 1.
Traffic at both checkpoints is also expected to be heavy for arrivals to Singapore on May 3.
To avoid a surge of travellers and vehicles at the land checkpoints, ICA advises travellers to adjust their travel plans if possible.
Travellers leaving Singapore by land checkpoints can be informed of the traffic situation from Land Transport Authority's (LTA) Expressway Monitoring & Advisory System (EMAS) installed along the AYE and BKE respectively.
For more traffic information and updates, travellers can call the hotel at 6863-0117, or visit LTA's One Motoring website (http://www.onemotoring.com.sg) or MyTransport.SG portal (MyTransport.SG).
