DPM Tharman will represent Singapore at Mandela's state memorial service

SINGAPORE - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam will represent Singapore at the State Memorial Service for the former President of South Africa, the late Nelson Mandela, on December 10 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.

DPM Tharman will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press statement.

South Africa's liberation leader and first democratic president Nelson Mandela died on Thursday at age 95, after a long battle with lung infection, reported AFP.
