EC President calls on PM Lee at Istana

SINGAPORE - The President of the European Council Mr Herman Van Rompuy called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on Tuesday (Nov 18). 

The two leaders reaffirmed the strong ties between the EU and Singapore and looked forward to the early ratification of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement.

Mr Van Rompuy also briefed PM Lee on developments in Europe.

Mr Van Rompuy, who was here for a 2-day work visit, leaves Singapore today.
