In a revised statement issued to The Straits Times on Saturday night, a police spokesman said upon arrival, officers found the victim "lying on the outer side of the track, in the direction of Expo MRT station".

At 1:42pm today, our train captain spotted a man lying close to the tracks between Tanah Merah and Expo stations.
He immediately applied the emergency brake and stopped the train, in accordance with operating procedures.
The man who was conscious, was duly moved to safety.
SMRT is working with the Police and SCDF to investigate the matter.
