Emergency exercise to be held at Sports Hub on Thursday

SINGAPORE - A multi-agency emergency exercise will be conducted at the Singapore Sports Hub, Kallang Wave Mall and Stadium MRT station on Thursday afternoon.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and several other agencies will begin the exercise at 12:30pm and end around 3pm.

Such exercises are part of on-going efforts to validate and update operational plans and procedures.

In total, about 700 personnel and 60 emergency and supporting vehicles will be participating in the exercise.

During the exercise, the firing of blanks, explosions, smoke and fire simulation will be used.

All operational vehicles participating in the exercise will have their beacon lights turned on to alert motorists. Exercise signage will also be placed within the exercise vicinity to alert members of the public to the exercise.

The public is advised not to be alarmed.
