ERP rates reduced for upcoming June school holidays

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has completed its review of the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates for the upcoming June school holidays.

In a statement on Monday (May 23), it said that ERP rates at a number of roads and expressways during certain time periods will be reduced by $1 per Passenger Car Unit (PCU), except where the current ERP rate is $0.50 per PCU.

Where the current ERP rate is $0.50 per PCU, the reduction will be $0.50 per CPU.

This will take effect from May 28 until June 26.

The ERP rates will revert that of the pre-school holiday period from June 27 onwards, said LTA.

For instance, passage through the Ayer Rajah Expressway (City) gantry before Alexandra Road between 8am and 8.30am will be free.

The current ERP rate during that period is $1.

It will also be free to pass through the ERP gantries on the southbound Central Expressway (CTE) before Braddell Road between 7am and 7.30am, and between 8.30am and 9am.

On the southbound CTE after Braddell Road and Pan-Island Expressway slip road into the southbound CTE, ERP rates at the four gantries will be $1 between 7am and 7.30am, and $2 between 7.30am and 8am.

The next ERP rate review will take place in August for the third quarterly rate review of 2016.

For more information on the locations and revised rates of ERP gantries, go to LTA's website.

In a separate statement, LTA said that the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) operating hours will end earlier at noon on weekdays from May 28 to June 26.

Drivers of foreign-registered cars and motorcycles need not pay any VEP fees for the day if they drive into Singapore after noon and leave by 2am the next day on weekdays during this period.

VEP fees remain non-chargeable on Saturdays, Sundays and Singapore public holidays.
