SINGAPORE - Occasional slightly hazy conditions may be expected in the afternoon tomorrow, said the National Environment Agency (NEA) in a statement today, with the 24-hr PSI for the next 24 hours expected to be in the Moderate range.

Showers are forecast for Singapore in the afternoon.

According to the NEA, the prevailing winds are forecast to continue blowing from the southeast, and hazy conditions will continue if the winds continue to blow from the south. 13 hotspots were detected in Sumatra today, with the low hotspot count due to cloud cover. Smoke haze was observed in southern parts of Sumatra.

It added that there was an improvement in the haze situation in Singapore today due to a slight shift in the direction of the prevailing winds. As at 7pm, the 24-hr PSI was 60-70, in the moderate range.
