SINGAPORE - Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin has confirmed that he has married Indonesian-Chinese partner Elaine Andriejanssen on June 27.

Mr Saverin said in a Facebook post: "I am incredibly happy and thankful to have married the love of my life. I look forward to building a family together and to contributing our time and resources to make the world a better place. I will wake up every single day of my life with an ingrained smile because of my beautiful, intelligent and caring wife Elaine."

He also posted a picture of him and Andriejanssen in loving embrace, as they posed for a picture in wedding gear.

The Brazilian-born billionaire became a Singapore resident after renouncing his US citizenship in 2012. Forbes listed him as number 6 on Singapore's list of 50 richest people, worth an estimated US$5.9 billion. The investor in tech startups made investments in Tech in Asia, an online news site, Silvercar, an airport car rental service and Hopscothc, an Indian online retailer of kidswear.

The magazine also noted that he married Andriejanssen in the south of France in June.
