A married father of two was jailed 15 months on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to two counts of intercourse with a 15-year-old student he had met online. Two other related charges were taken into consideration.
S. Ravi Chander, 49, first had sex with the girl in June last year at Nepal Park. The next month, he met the girl, who was in her school uniform, and drove her to Bukit Batok West Avenue 5, where they had sex at the back of his van.
District Judge Low Wee Ping said the offences were similar to rape and was shocked by the age gap.
He said: "One offence of this nature is bad enough.
Twice is very aggravating. But you actually committed the offence four times."
Ravi could have been jailed up to 10 years on each charge of having sex with a girl younger than 16.
