Fire breaks out at Grassroots' Club in Ang Mo Kio

A fire broke out at The Grassroots' Club in Ang Mo Kio today afternoon.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at 5.37pm about the fire and deployed two fire engines, one red rhino, two fire bikes, two support vehicles and one ambulance.

The fire was put out by firemen with two water jets within 30 minuted.

The fire on the third level happened in the kitchen of a restaurant. No one was hurt, said the SCDF.

The Grassroots' Club beside Yio Chu Kang MRT station is a club set up "for grassroots leaders in recognition of their contributions to community service", the club's website said.
