First to get his NDP tickets

Retiree Robert Chew, 73, was the first in line to collect the four tickets he won in the ballot for this year's Golden Jubilee National Day Parade. He arrived at the Marina Square Shopping Mall atrium at 8.30am, 90 minutes before the counters opened.

Some 100,000 tickets were up for grabs for the Aug 1 preview and actual show on Aug 9. The parade will feature the largest fireworks display.

Successful applicants can collect their tickets from now until June 14, between 10am and 10pm.
