First hand account of Sabah quake

SINGAPORE - Mr Mohamad Amin Bin Mohamad Nor, 29, senior executive at Overseas Learning Journey, was on Mount Kinabalu when the quake struck.

He recounted his experience to SPH Razor in an interview this week.

Mr Mohamad told Razor that he had just seen two groups of students taking part in group activities when the hut he was in started to shake.

When he rushed out to take a look, he saw "big rocks rolling down the rock face where (the) kids were".

The mountain guides he was with immediately tried to contact the other guides who were with the children outdoors.

"At the same time, I got the six other students with me out of Pendant Hut to the helipad," he said.
