IPOH - Five people have been arrested over the case of a human resources manager who was snatched near here last week, with the police saying personal beef with the victim was the motive behind the abduction.
Perak police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said two men were arrested shortly after the June 19 abduction.
"We believe they were hired to do so.
"The three others are believed to be the masterminds behind the kidnapping," he told reporters at a police event in Hulu Kinta, near here, yesterday.
"The suspects will be referred to the public prosecutor's office to be charged," SDC Acryl Sani said.
The 40-year-old manager who works in Chemor, near here, was abducted by four people after they rammed their Proton Waja into her car at around 9.30pm.
When the mother of three alighted from her car to check the damage she was pulled and pushed into the suspects' vehicle and driven off.
Following a tip-off, two men were arrested within an hour of the abduction.
Passing motorists found her on Friday afternoon near Goh Tong Jaya in Genting Highlands - about 200km from where she was taken.
She received treatment for light injuries at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
SDC Acryl Sani thanked witnesses who recorded the abduction.
"This helped us in our investigations."
