Flat on fire: Firefighting operations ongoing at Marine Crescent

Update: Body of blind man found by SCDF officers in unit

The body of a man was discovered by firefighters after they put out a fire at a Marine Crescent flat on Saturday, said a spokesman from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). The deceased is believed to be blind and was living at the unit with his wife.

Eyewitnesses at the scene told The Straits Times that they saw thick, black smoke billowing out of the 10th floor unit and the glass windows cracking as the fire raged on.
