Floating lift or low-lying MRT track?

From disembodied figures to dogs wearing sweaters, the internet is a trove of optical illusions and happenstances in Singapore are not spared either!

An image of men working under an MRT track is trending on social news website Reddit, as it has caused netizens much confusion about the angle at which this picture was taken. The photo was posted by a user named zibin.

Two men working on a construction lift may be a common sight, but the angle of the photo created the impression that the lift was floating above the ground without any support. The MRT track also seemed too low to the ground.

Another Reddit user MrDLTE3 explained that the illusion happened because the crane's arm was moving horizontally.
