SINGAPORE - Four Government Parliamentary Committees (GPC) will have new chairmen and deputy chairmen when Parliament re-opens on Friday, the People's Action Party said in a statement on Thursday.

The second term of the Twelfth Parliament will convene on May 16. The Government Parliamentary Committees (GPC) will be reconstituted, with the following changes to the leadership of 4 GPCs.

Ms Denise Phua, MP for Moulmein-Kallang GRC, will take over as the Chairman of the GPC for Social and Family Development. Dr Lily Neo, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, will be the Deputy Chairman.

Mr Sitoh Yih Pin, MP for Potong Pasir SMC, will take over as the Chairman of the GPC for Defence and Foreign Affairs. Mr Alex Yam, MP for Chua Chu Kang GRC, will be the Deputy Chairman.

Mr Liang Eng Hwa, MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, will take over as the Chairman of the GPC for Finance and Trade & Industry. Mr Ong Teng Koon, MP for Sembawang GRC, will be the Deputy Chairman.

Dr Chia Shi-Lu, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, will take over as the Chairman of the GPC for Health. Ms Tin Pei Ling, MP for Marine Parade GRC, will be the Deputy Chairman.
