JOHOR BARU - Police have detained four men believed to be involved in a gruesome murder where the body parts were found along the North-South Expressway (NSE).
The suspects aged between 20 and 40, all from Myanmar, were detained in Kulaijaya on Aug 2, a day after the body parts were found.
Workers from PLUS Bhd made the horrific discovery of the hacked body parts packed into plastic rubbish bags at KM24.3 of the NSE near Kulai, heading south.
"The male victim is also from Myanmar,'' Johor police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said in a press conference here yesterday.
He added that the suspects have been remanded for two weeks until Aug 14 to facilitate investigations into the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The murdered victim has yet to be identified.
It is believed the victim had been murdered at a separate location before being dumped by the expressway.
The victim is said to be aged between 30 and 40. There were stab wounds on some of the body parts.
