Gerard Ee is new Chancellor of UniSIM

Former Public Transport Council chief Gerard Ee is the new Chancellor of SIM University (UniSIM), and chairman of the UniSIM Board of Trustees.

He takes over from Professor Cham Tao Soon.

Mr Ee is also the president of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and the chairman for Council for Third Age, a government-funded group that promotes active ageing. He is also a champion of social service rights and issues.

Prof Cham, the founding chancellor and chairman of UniSIM, retired from his position on Friday after about nine years at the helm.

In 2005, Prof Cham was instrumental in helping to set up UniSIM, which runs its own degree programmes under a charter from the Education Ministry to pioneer private university education for working adults.
