Get up close with manta rays at S.E.A. Aquarium

SINGAPORE - S.E.A. Aquarium Singapore will be opening its doors to the public who can get a behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa for a limited period.

Participants will get a private viewing of the aquarium during the morning rounds with the in-house marine guides to see where and how food for the inhabitants is prepared and visit some of the feeding spots of the various habitats by the aquarists.

Explorers will be able to witness the feeding of manta rays from Jul 20, 2014, and also get the chance to hand-feed more than 20,000 colourful fishes at the Rainbow Reef.

They will also learn about the different types of food such as Mazuri Gel. It is stored in a powdered form and then made into a gel for fish feeding. This feed consists of nutrients like spirulina algae, vitamin B12, anchovy and even carrot powder.

Other programmes include Ocean Dreams - where participations have the chance to indulge in an overnight experience to explore the wonders of the blue planet.

These programmes are part of the Singapore Science Festival, making it the second year that S.E.A. Aquarium is participating to educate the public about marine life through engagement and interaction.
