Glass door suddenly shatters at Takashimaya

A glass door came came crashing down on the first level of Takashimaya department store today, startling a shopper who reported the incident to citizen journalism website Stomp.

The Stomp contributor, who wanted to be known only as Serene, said she heard a loud "boom" at about 5.50pm.

She added: "Everybody just moved to one side, we were all quite puzzled as to what had just happened. There were pieces of glass all over the floor."

Serene also told Stomp that the staff and security were trying to block the way so that no one stepped on the glass.

According to her, no one was injured in the incident.
