Habitat for Humanity raises over $50,000 at cycling event

Singapore - With leg power, more than 250 cycling enthusiasts from all walks of life demonstrated their support today for a new programme which allows disadvantaged youths to do their bit for communities in need.

The newly launched StarBuilders programme provides such meaningful opportunities for the youths at activities organised by Habitat for Humanity Singapore (HFH Singapore).

Today's Cycle Out Poverty with Habitat for Humanity Singapore event culminated at the Changi Civil Service Club. It raised over $50,000 in support of the new cause.

Cyclists could choose a more challenging 40km route, a leisurely 25km route or a fun 5km ride. The journeys end at a carnival complete with food, music, games and a bike workshop at the Changi Civil Service Club.

Interested sponsors and donors may contact HFH Singapore on how to contribute to Cycle Out Poverty 2015 or the StarBuilders programme. For more information, visit www.cycleoutpoverty.sg or email cop@habitat.org.sg
