If you’re a current or future homeowner who’s waiting for your BTO/EC apartment, shopping for your home can be quite a hassle and it takes many, many precious weekends to shop for all the items you want for your new home.

Mind you, there aren’t many factory outlets in Singapore. Not to mention one that specialises in electronics, computers, furniture and bedding. So you can imagine our delight when we found out about Harvey Norman’s newest endeavour.

Other than refrigerators and washing machines, you can also set up your kitchen quite easily with Harvey Norman’s wide selection of ovens, cooker hobs and hoods from reputable brands such as Tecno, UNO, EF, ELBA and Otimmo by Europace.

At the factory outlet, you can also purchase from a whole range of computers, gaming consoles and even printers to get your study or entertainment room set up.

The best part is, you get what you need at outlet prices, which leads us to our point.

2. You stand to gain big savings

We all know that setting up a home can be a costly affair, but thankfully, it is an investment we make only a few times in our lives.

At Harvey Norman, factory outlet prices are possible due to global bulk buy, especially for furniture pieces, with over 260 stores in several countries. This is an economies of scale that smaller boutique outlets will never be able to achieve.

Sometimes, the retail chain also has an overstock of items or older, discontinued models they are trying to clear – that’s when prices drop significantly and you can get items at a steal.

You can also buy current models sold at other stores priced at special one-off prices only available at the factory outlet.

The outlet will also have some display sets, or mildly dented or refurbished items up for grabs. If you are not a fussy buyer, purchasing these items is a great way to save money.

There will be special opening deals on July 15, so don’t miss out!

3. Models not available in regular stores

So we understand from Harvey Norman that there will be regular bulk buy models that may not be available at its other retail stores.

What better way to get those unique, one-off pieces that no one else has.

The retail chain also said that “some of these deals may be one-off depending on the stock availability”. So it may be worth your while to pop by the outlet every now and then to find new bargains.

4. Get quality designer pieces priced to clear
