SINGAPORE - Haze conditions in Singapore have deteriorated slightly today, with the 24-hr PSI reading currently at 164-203 at 6pm, within the Unhealthy to Very Unhealthy range. The 3-hr PSI level stood at 213.
Current hazy conditions are expected to persist for the rest of the day, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA) in its statement at 2pm, when the 24-hr PSI reading was at 170-212.
The 24-hour PSI for the next 12 hours is expected to be in the low to mid sections of the Very Unhealthy range, said the NEA.
It advised members of the public to restrict outdoor activities and physical exertion, which can help limit the ill effects from haze exposure. Healthy persons should also avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor physical exertion.
The elderly, pregnant women and children should minimise outdoor activity, while those with chronic lung or heart disease should avoid outdoor activity. Persons who are not feeling well, especially the elderly and children, and those with chronic heart or lung conditions, should seek medical attention.
