IPOH - For the past 10 months, a 39-year-old chef has been serving up RM400,000 (S$156,000) worth of heroin as his "speciality" dish.

Detained at his house in Kampung Rapat here at 2.30pm on Saturday, Pahang Narcotics Department chief Assistant Commissioner Roslan Abd Wahid said police got their breakthrough after arresting a couple in Gunung Semanggol six months ago.

The couple were believed to have been employed by the suspect as storekeepers.

"The suspect carried out the illicit activities in rented houses.

"Whenever he sensed the presence of the authorities, he would move on.

"He also constantly changed cars.

"His monthly profit would come up to RM40,000 a month," he said, adding the drugs were sold to traffickers in other states.

Roslan said: "The suspect also used revenue from his illicit activities to subsidise a motocross business."
