A small stretch of Orchard Road in front of Ngee Ann City turned into a "kindness zone" yesterday when passers-by got free hugs, high fives and balloons from strangers.
Several shoppers even got a little reprieve from the afternoon sun when some of the 20 volunteers sheltered them with umbrellas.
The two-day event, which ends today, was organised by the Singapore Kindness Movement.
It aims to encourage people to be kinder and friendlier to one another.
