SINGAPORE - Shoppers were in for a surprise as people dressed in Hong Kong triad outfits suddenly barged into Jurong Point Shopping Centre on July 27.
The 'triad members' were actually part of a flash mob that was organised by the mall.
Jurong Point's management held the flash mob to showcase the vibrant street lights and atmosphere of Mongkok within the mall.
A video of the entire showcase was posted on the mall's YouTube page on Aug 2.
The clip starts of with a man, dressed in a suit, choosing a flower for his girlfriend.
The couple then break into a song routine, which is followed by a song and dance number by people dressed like shopkeepers.
Just as this item ends, two groups dressed in triad outfits face-off in the middle of the mall.
One group performs a dance item with prop axes, while the other holds prop versions of baseball bats and other weapons.
The two groups are then joined by other members of the flash mob for the final song and dance performance for the day.
The entire flash mob ended with a special appearance by Hong Kong star Selena Li.
