Hong Kah North bands together to set record

More than 2,000 residents and grassroots leaders spent almost six months making 25,000 friendship bands, put together to form an SG50 logo. The colourful bands symbolise the friendship among residents of different backgrounds, races and religions.

They were put on sale for $2 each to benefit needy seniors. Including donations, around $100,000 has been raised so far.
