Household gas tarrifs to increase by 3.6%

SINGAPORE - Household gas tarrifs will increase by 3.6 per cent or 0.63 cent per kilowatt hour (kWh), said City Gas on Wednesday.

From Aug 1 to Oct 31, tarrifs will go up from 17.62 cents per kWh to 18.25 cents per kWh.

City Gas said in a statement that this is due to a 12.7 per cent increase in fuel costs compared to the previous quarter.

City Gas reviews the gas tarrifs based on guidelines set by gas industry regulator, Energy Market Authority.
