JOHOR BARU - A distraught woman is appealing for information concerning a hit-and-run accident which has left her husband in a coma.
Goh Cai Few, 27, said her construction worker husband Low Kuok Khien, 31, was on his way to Singapore to cash his pay cheque when the mishap occurred under a flyover at Jalan Tebrau at about noon on Tuesday.
"I was in my house in Larkin when I got a call saying that my husband had been hit by a vehicle," she said when met at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here where her husband is being warded.
Goh said her husband's mobile phone and pay cheque were missing after the incident.
"The person who called me claimed that someone had found my husband's SIM card at the scene," he said, adding that Low's wallet was also recovered at the scene.
She said her husband had a brain haemorrhage and five broken ribs.
"We have two young children and he is our only breadwinner," she said.
"What saddens me the most is that no one has come forward with any information despite the accident having taken place in broad daylight," she added.
Johor Baru Security Volunteer Association president Steven Lee Chun Hian urged those who witnessed the hit-and-run to provide information at the office located at No 82-A Jalan Sutera Merah 2 at Taman Sutera here.
