IKEA Singapore recalls children bed canopies due to strangulation risk

Furniture giant IKEA Singapore is recalling bed canopies that are intended to be draped around children's cots or beds.

Parents are to stop using it for infants and small children, and to bring the bed canopy back to the stores for a full refund.

The affected bed canopies are: LEGENDARISK, MINNEN bed canopy set, BARNSLIG BOLL, MINNEN BRODYR, HIMMEL, FABLER, TISSLA and KLÄMMIG.

IKEA has identified a potential strangulation hazard associated with these products. It received reports of entanglement when the net was pulled into the cots or beds and entangled around the infants' necks.

No permanent injury has been reported and none of the reported cases were from Singapore.

The affected bed canopies from IKEA have been sold on all Ikea markets since 1996. For more information, please contact IKEA Customer Service at +65 6786 6868.
