SINGAPORE - Nee Soon Central may have seen many changes over the years, with new additions such as the newly revamped Yishun Park. But "some important things remain", said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who visited the town on Saturday.

In the picture above, Mr Lee is seen having tea with residents and is flanked by Nee Soon GRC MPs Lee Bee Wah and Patrick Tay on his right, and Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim on his left.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Mr Lee said community ties in the town remain strong. Those who moved into the town 20 to 30 years ago are now seniors with their own children and grandchildren living nearby.

But many young couples have also moved in. "I carried lots of babies and saw quite many pregnant women during the visit today," he wrote.
