Indian Railways launches app to beat queues

IN A bid to cut queues at reservation counters, Indian Railways has launched an app for the booking of paperless platform tickets.

It was launched in the Mumbai suburban sections, as well as New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations.

The new services are in line with prime minister Narendra Modi's Digital India mission and it will help passengers save time by booking their tickets at home before travelling, said railway minister Suresh Prabhu at the launch.
