Indonesia and Singapore air forces reaffirm close ties and professional cooperation

SINGAPORE - Indonesia and Singapore have reaffirmed close ties and professional cooperation between both air forces.

The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU), Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Agus Supriatna, called on Second Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing after inspecting a Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this morning.

ACM Agus also called on Chief of Air Force Major-General Hoo Cher Mou where they reiterated their mutual commitment to strengthening the friendship between the two air forces.

ACM Agus will also visit Sembawang Air Base and Paya Lebar Air Base as part of his visit from Feb 10 to 12.

The introductory visit by ACM Agus underscores the strong and long-standing defence ties between Singapore and Indonesia.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Indonesian Air Force have been exercising together since 1980 under Exercise Elang Indopura.

There are also regular visits, professional exchanges, and cross-attendance of courses between the two Air Forces. These interactions have built mutual understanding and enhanced the professionalism and camaraderie between personnel from both air forces.
