Indonesia, Singapore meet for tenth round of maritime boundaries discussions

SINGAPORE - Representatives from the Indonesian and Singapore government met in Medan, Indonesia for the Tenth Round of Technical Discussions on Maritime Boundaries in the Eastern Part of the Strait of Singapore. The discussions from Aug 18-19 were a follow-up to the Ninth Round of Technical Discussions held in Singapore on Dec 9 and 10, 2013.

The Indonesian delegation was led by Mr. Octavino Alimudin, Director for Political, Security, and Territorial Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Singapore delegation was led by Mr. Pang Khang Chau, Director-General, International Affairs Division, Attorney-General's Chambers.

The delegations made good progress on the consolidated text of the Treaty relating to the Delimitation of the Territorial Seas of the Two Countries in the Eastern Part of the Strait of Singapore and its Annexures, said the Foreign Affairs ministries of both countries in a joint press release.

Both Heads of Delegation acknowledged that the progress reached at the Discussions would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
